About Hills Wildlife Sanctuary
Since 1977, the Hills Wildlife Sanctuary has dedicated itself to rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for injured, orphaned, and displaced native wildlife. Entirely volunteer-run, the sanctuary relies on the generosity of local businesses and donors.
The devastating Black Summer Bushfires highlighted the sanctuary's crucial role and the urgent need to expand their facilities. Their vision now includes building a wildlife hospital, expanding rehabilitation facilities, developing an education hub, and establishing an emergency response team.
The brief
Understanding the importance of their mission, the team here at Onyx Agency decided to support Hills Wildlife Sanctuary by creating a compelling video for their 2024 ‘Save Our Wildlife’ fundraiser. Our team, led by Creative Director Dominic Dimech set out to produce a video that would move hearts and inspire action.
The solution
With interviews from talented Director and Sanctuary Manager, Ben Dessen and the wonderful Director and Wildlife Veterinarian, Dr. Audrey Shen, we were able to tell the story of the sanctuary and to highlight the natural environment, the dedication of the volunteers, and the gentle care provided to the animals.
Its heartwarming narrative and powerful visuals courtesy of the beautiful cinematography captured by Charles C. Meyer and Sam Dessen left a lasting impression, significantly boosting donations.
